The Raw Dawgs bounce back in Week 2 with a big win over Concrete, while Shawn Satarian leads the Fastbreakers to a big win over The U.H.

Buffalo, NY-  In the second week of Champions League action the number of undefeated teams dropped down to two in each division, meaning that the six season record of having no team ever go through the Champions League undefeated appears to be on its way of making it to seven consecutive seasons.

James Kim has JLin & The Temptations as one of the only four remaining teams in the hunt for an undefeated season after knocking off Phi Slamma Jamma.  Cymande Pratt (19 points) and Zameon Nealy (19 points) led JLin & The Temptations in the 64-49 win.  In Game 2 Shawn Satarian led the Fastbreakers with 37 points while knocking off The U.H.

OJ Healthy BuffaloIn the third game Lenny Frears (14 points) led Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy over the Billies, despite another strong game by Mark Ward who led all scorers with 25 points while taking pole position in the chase for the scoring title.  Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy was without defensive force Eric Dalman who is out for an extended period after undergoing surgery.  On behalf of our entire organization we would like to send our thoughts and prayers to Eric and hope for a speedy recovery.  In the 6pm game the VeryAggressiveGuys knocked off the Flint Tropics, behind a strong game by Jasen Ineson (17 points) who has been warming up for the Champions League by rolling with the Healthy Buffalo squad in the TBGC Monday Night League.  The Flint Tropics offense couldn’t get started against the aggressive defensive attack of the VeryAggressiveGuys and ended without a single player in double digits, while falling 72-40.

In the first game of Eastern Conference play Buffalo’s Finest looked to build off their win against R.I.P. Ent in Week 1, but were outmatched by Adam Lafleur (32 points) and Sponge Bob Square Pants, who won their second straight 77-58.  Lafleur continues to step up his game in the absence of Elton Frazier and Matt Tucholski, keeping Sponge Bob in the hunt for a title.  R.I.P. Ent got back in the win column with a big win against White Men Can’t Jump, knocking them off 80-46.  Jesse Watkins spread the floor knocking down a number of three-pointers to lead the offensive attack for R.I.P. Ent.

Brian Walter Healthy Buffalo 2After cruising to a Week 1 win against White Men Can’t Jump, CKNY had to play Eastern Conference powerhouse Court Justice.  Court Justice took a commanding 37-25 first half lead, but captain Dave Hall (22 points) led his squad back into the game with 16 second half points.  However it was too little to late as Mike Ridge (17 points) and Moe Bailey (20 points) secured the win for Court Justice, 70-65.  In the final game of the night, Concrete made their season debut after a Week 1 bye against the Raw Dawgs.

The Raw Dawgs got off to a big lead early, but in the second half Concrete picked up their defensive effort and got right back into the game.  It all came down to the final possession with the ball in Al Ahmed’s hands.  He made a couple moves and had a clean lane to the basket and put up the game-tying shot attempt when Darrik Bloomfield came out of nowhere and made a vicious block off the backboard to finish off the game and lock up the win.
