Season XI wraps up in epic fashion as the West Side Connection run through League B and 2 Live Krew brings home their first ever title.
Buffalo, NY- It was a fitting conclusion to Buffalo’s biggest basketball league as both division winners featured some of Healthy Buffalo’s most tenured players. After going neck and neck with the Billies in the first half, West Side Connection blew open a huge lead in the second half to finish off the Billies in a rout. White Men Can’t Jump had an impressive win over Run N’ Gun to punch their ticket to a trip to the finals against West Side Connection. In the championship game White Men Can’t Jump took a seven point lead into the second half but couldn’t quite hold on as Roy Wallace (18 points) and Jose Sanjurjo (17 points) put on an impressive second half performance to bring home the League B title, 67-59.
In League A action the sixth-seeded Buffalo Braves made short work of top-seeded D-Block in their semifinal matchup. Mitch Reese led all scorers with 15 points in the Braves 58-42 victory. In the other League A semifinal matchup 2 Live Krew just barely slipped past the N.W.O., 65-63. The win setup a finals match between 2 Live Krew and the Buffalo Braves.
The finals matchup was an instant classic, as both teams were rich with Healthy Buffalo history, there were too many storylines to follow. Bryce Hammerton made a number a key baskets down the stretch and Jon Marsh had another incredible scoring game as 2 Live Krew held on to win the League A championship, 64-63.
