Harper Bishop 750NDN Gunners pick up their second consecutive big win to start the season, while the Healthy Buffalo squad pulled off a big win against Lindsay Szymanski and the Geriatric Lady Bears.

Buffalo, NY- The stars came out in the second week of play in the Healthy Buffalo Women’s League.  In the first game of action Christina Morris (11 points) led a fiery Healthy Buffalo squad over the Geriatric Lady Bears.  Lindsay Szymanski had a tremendous individual performance leading the Lady Bears with 17 points, including five 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a solid team performance by Healthy Buffalo.

The NDN Gunners looked great for the second consecutive week, knocking off the Lemon Drops in a 49-27 point victory.  The Lemon Drops kept it close early, behind the strong ball-handling and point play by Melissa Pawlowski and the inside play of Ashley Kimble, but just like in Week 1, the NDN Gunners wore them down in the second half with their explosive outlet passing and full court press.

The final game of the night was defined by the dominant play of Harper Bishop, who led all scorers with 28 points.  The Shining Force recruited Kelley Salerno and Lisa Jarosz to complement Bishop, and they brought some extra speed to the lineup which was too much for the Toon Squad to handle.  Melanie Fisher had a strong game for the Toon Squad with eight points and some strong defensive plays and Rachael Howard displayed a nice shooting touch, leading the team with 12 points, but in the end it was the Shining Force that picked up the 64-32 point win and their first win of the season.
