Here come the Billies.

Week 4 action amazes.  Marcus Loder sinks hook-shot three pointer as time expires to carry R.I.P. Ent to victory over Marc Antecki and the Hoosiers.

Buffalo, NY-  As KJ3 approaches the midway point of the season, the hopes and dreams of over 150 players hangs in the balance.  Who will capture the Kronies Jamfest 3 championship?  Who will make the All-Star squad?  Who will win the scoring title?  After four weeks of play the favorites are beginning to materialize.

In game one the VeryAggressiveGuys took on Hit It & Quit It.  After coming off their first loss the VeryAggressiveGuys were looking to bounce back against Hit It & Quit It who were looking to remain within striking distance in the Western Conference.  Ben Walkow was back in action after missing week three, but couldn’t do enough to slow down Sean O’Brien who led Hit It & Quit It with 23 points and carried the team to a 3-1 start.  Final Score: Hit It & Quit It 56, VeryAggressiveGuys 47.

Lenny Frears of Team Rocket

In game two the number one ranked defensive team in the league, Team Rocket took on Chris Wagner and Swagged Out.  Lenny Frears came out firing leading Team Rocket to a 28-19 lead at the break with 15 first half points.  Yet it was a tale of two halves as Team Rocket managed only 13 second half points, while Swagged Out’s Tim ‘Big Country’ Book hit double digits for the third consecutive game and newcomer Brian Roddey went off for 24 points, leading Swagged Out to a 49-41 point victory.

In game three the Wolfpack were back in full force after the bye week but they had their hands full with Dan Moreno and Hoops Unlimited.  The one-two punch of Dan Moreno (30 points) and Matt Pagano (32 points) proved to be too much for the Wolfpack.  The Wolfpack were led by Jerett Smith with 15 points, but struggled to get the ball in the hands of leading scorer Nick Lange.  Final Score: 104-39.

Next up was John Bowen and Healthy Buffalo against the Billies.  John Bowen was coming off an incredible 41 point performance in week 3, but it was Mark Ward who stole the show this Saturday going off for 37 points against a shorthanded Healthy Buffalo squad and leading the Billies to a 3-1 start to the season and a 90-61 point victory.

R.I.P. Ent squeezes out win with miracle three point hook shot as time expires.

In the Week 4 Game of the Week R.I.P. Ent took on Marc Antecki and the Hoosiers in a rematch of last seasons playoff match-up.  The rematch was an instant classic.  With both teams leaving it all out on the floor for nearly forty minutes, the Hoosiers carried a 2 point into the into the final two seconds.  The Hoosiers appeared ready to wrap up their first win and get back in the hunt of things, but it all changed in a flash as big man Marcus Loder heaved up a desperation hook shot three pointer as time expired leading R.I.P. Ent to a 64-63 point win.

In game 6 Swoopin’ In On Ya’ Girl looked to stay unbeaten against Shane Canahai and AXA.  Kronies Jamfest 3 leading scorer John Papincak and company jumped out the gate fast cruising to a quick double digit lead and ended with a convincing 78-54 point lead and maintained sole possession of first place in the East.

Next up was another nail-biter as DJ Dovey Ent squared off against Eric Justice and Court Justice.  This one was neck and neck throughout.  Ed Stephens carried the bulk of the scoring load for Court Justice with 23 points, while John Catanzaro scored a season high 14 points for DJ Dovey Ent, including going 4-4 from three point range in the first half.  In the end Court Justice squeezed out the one point victory 57-56.

In the final game of the night the Pick N’ Tootsie Rolls took on Sponge Bob Square Pants.  Pick N’ Tootsie Rolls got big contributions from Vinny Vanoni (10 points), David Vanoni (10 points) and Zach Rougeux (13 points) and had a chance to knock off Sponge Bob Square Pants, but had a number of key turnovers down the stretch, allowing Sponge Bob to squeeze out a two point victory behind the sharp shooting of Adam LaFleur (19 points).  Final Score: Sponge Bob 59, Pick N’ Tootsie Rolls 57.

Game 5 Game of the Week

In the 5pm game the Queen City Stampede play undefeated Court Justice.  This is a huge game for both teams as the Queen City Stampede look to stay in the hunt, while Court Justice can stay within a half game of division leading Swoopin’ In On Ya’ Girl with a win.

Week 4 Western Conference Scoring Leaders: Mark Ward 37, Matt Pagano 32, Dan Moreno 30, Brian Roddey 24, Sean O’Brien 23.
