On Tuesday night the Buffalo Warriors challenged the Healthy Buffalo Dream Team to a game featuring Buffalo’s best basketball talent in what could be the beginning of a burgeoning rivalry.
Hamburg, NY- On Tuesday night Buffalo’s premier professional basketball team challenged the newly formed Healthy Buffalo Dream Team to a match-up featuring a collection of Buffalo’s best basketball talent. The venue at the Hamburg Casino at the Fairgrounds was impressive. The combination of a growing fan base, play-by-play analysis, a commentator chanting ‘defense’ when Healthy Buffalo had possession and ‘boomshakalaka’ when the Healthy Buffalo team got dunked on, a jumbo-tron for replays, and halftime interviews, all combined for an amazing basketball atmosphere.
The Healthy Buffalo team got off to a slow start and trailed by nineteen points at the half. Jamell Cromartie caught fire early and could not be stopped for most of the game scoring a game high 37 points, most of which came from behind the arch. Healthy Buffalo made a run early in the second half and cut the lead to single digits midway through the quarter. Perry Davis made a number of impressive plays on the defensive end including a couple of highlight worthy blocks, while Jon Burgio stepped up his game on the offensive end scoring most of his team high 27 points in the second half.
While the Healthy Buffalo team made a run to finish the game is was never quite enough to overcome the deficit they dug themselves into early as they fell to the Warriors, 106-94.
Despite the loss, the Healthy Buffalo team enjoyed the high level of competition and was grateful for the invite and impressed with the entire Buffalo Warriors organization. The game was telecast on the Time Warner Sports Channel on Wednesday night at 9 pm, with play-by-play commentary by Medaille College basketball coach Mike MacDonald. Healthy Buffalo is working with the Buffalo Warriors organization to plan a rematch in the near future.

Terrance Dill (Buffalo Warrior’s co-owner) home country of BERMUDA will be hosted by the Pro team Buffalo Warriors for two games May 18th and 21st.
The Bermuda National Basketball team is going through tryout for the team that will compete in this year’s Small Island Games in Bermuda and the FIBA sanctioned Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championship this summer.
We will bring 8-9 of our established players and 4-6 players that are looking to break into our team to Buffalo for a couple games and minicamp ahead of selection for these summer tournaments.
The Bermuda players are very excited to have this opportunity to match up against the high powered offense of the Buffalo Warriors and several are friends of Terrance and haven’t seen him in years.
The coaching staff will be more focused on running the rule of the new players and looking to make their team as strong as possible this summer.
