Court Justice enters the midpoint of the season as the only remaining undefeated team in the league. While the Raw Dawgs knocked off Sponge Bob Square Pants to take hold of second place in the East.
Buffalo, NY- At the midway point of the season both division are wide open. Court Justice is the last remaining team with an undefeated record, which means they are the only team with the chance to become the first ever team to make it through the season undefeated. Outside of Court Justice there is literally chaos in the standings as Champions League favorites like R.I.P. Ent and Sponge Bob are sitting at .500, while JLin & The Temptations are tied for first in the West.
Week 5 featured a number of big time games as Concrete nearly knocked off Court Justice and Buffalo’s Finest got a big win against CKNY to remain in the hunt in the East. Norfolk N’ Chance picked up its first win of the season over White Men Can’ Jump. Perry Davis had a monster first half with three big time dunks in the first half, but Antalik and Plail led a balanced attack to carry Norfolk N’ Chance to a 57-54 win.
In Western Division play, the Fastbreakers came up just short of knocking off Rich Lynch and the Billies. Dan Graffam had a career game to carry the Billies to victory, scoring a career high 19 points to keep the Billies tied for first in the West. THE Goon Squad suffered its fourth consecutive loss of the season at the hands of JLin & The Temptations, but their 0-4 record doesn’t do justice to their performance on the court as they have been quite stingy on defense and have been coming up just short. In the final game of the night Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy had a miraculous victory over the VeryAggressiveGuys as Lenny Frears scored the game winning basket as time expired with a long range three-pointer off the backboard. It was a devastating loss for the VeryAggressiveGuys who played a tight game and have been off to a great start this season after a disappointing finish last season.
Week 6 Game of the Week
At 7pm Sponge Bob Square Pants takes on R.I.P. Ent as both teams are looking to get back into the hunt after a disappointing season. R.I.P. Ent star Mitch Reese has had a couple extra weeks to rehab his knee following R.I.P.’s bye week and the Easter holiday. Will it be enough to time for Reese to get back on the court? Jon Burgio is not used to sitting at .500 at this point in the season and will need a big game Sunday if Sponge Bob is going to get the win. Check it out live this Sunday at 7pm!
