Pup N Suds defeated reigning champs Sonic Broom in Monday nights first game.  Kyle Swift scored an early goal to put Pup N Suds in front early.  Bryan Bader and Mike Ramat added second period goals to give them a 3-1 lead entering the third.  Pat Sullivan scored late in the third to put Sonic Broom within one.  The last few minutes were close, but Pup N Suds held on, and walked away with the victory.

Blizzard of 77 remains undefeated as they cruise past New Era.  Tim Battaglia scored early for New Era but it wasn’t enough to top Blizzard of 77’s high-powered offense.  Five of the Seven Blizzard players scored in the 10-1 victory.  Emily Ciccarella lead all scorers with 4 points.  Joe Johnson and Pete Eiskant had strong performances with 2 goals each.

Each battling for their first win of the season, 8 Main and Polar Vortex delivered a nail-biter.  Abby Starkey scored 2 points early in the first to give Polar Vortex the early lead.  Sarah McDougall, Captain of 8 Main, answered the call in the second when she tied the game with an unbelievable goal coming off of a two on one break.  Both Shane America (8 Main) and Shawn Martin (Polar Vortex) scored offsetting goals in the third to send the game into overtime and an eventual shootout.  6 shooters per team would have the chance to give their teams a much-needed win.  The goalies made some unbelievable saves and the shooters remained scoreless.  No team was able to claim the win.  3-3 Tie.

Maple Fever and Sweepy Hollow entered Week 3 undefeated, only one team would leave that way.  It was bound to be a physical game and the first period was just that.  Tony Chiaramonte (Maple Fever) scored the lone goal in first but that wasn’t the only action, as tempers flared after some physical play towards the end of the period.  Once the dust settled Maple Fever captain David Cory and Jeff Sipos of Sweepy Hollow exchanged goals back and forth through the second and third periods.  David scored the only goal in the second.  Jeff answered early in the third to put Sweepy Hollow on the board.  David answered with his second goal of the night to stretch his teams lead back to two.  Jeff responded with another goal in a final push for Sweepy Hollow, but in the end it wasn’t enough.  Maple Fever takes the victory and remains undefeated.
